Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (CA-38), a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, voted to advance critical components of the Build Back Better Act. The Committee successfully marked up measures to deliver twelve weeks of paid family and medical leave to workers, combat climate change, cut taxes for working families, create jobs, and lower the cost of child care, health care, and other critical services, as well as measures on funding these priorities.

“Social isolation and loneliness impacted our seniors long before this pandemic led to limited gatherings and visits with friends and loved ones,” said Congresswoman Linda Sánchez. “Not everyone has the social support they need, and isolation can lead to poor physical and mental health. This bill would ensure community organizations have the tools and resources to meet the needs of all seniors, especially those most at risk of experiencing social isolation or loneliness.”
