Today, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) released the following statement regarding the Senate Parliamentarian’s ruling on a pathway to citizenship via budget reconciliation:  

"After nearly 40 hours of debate over the course of four days, my colleagues and I on the Ways and Means Committee approved historic investments in the Build Back Better Act. These measures give us the opportunity to tangibly make life better, not for the wealthiest among us or multinational corporations, but for those who need it most."

Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (CA-38), a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, voted to advance critical components of the Build Back Better Act. The Committee successfully marked up measures to deliver twelve weeks of paid family and medical leave to workers, combat climate change, cut taxes for working families, create jobs, and lower the cost of child care, health care, and other critical services, as well as measures on funding these priorities.

“My heart is with the family members and loved ones of the 13 American service members who were killed in Kabul. These brave individuals who lost their lives, and all our troops on the ground, courageously went to carry out our mission knowing the threats they faced. Those we lost will forever be remembered as heroes, and my thoughts are with all our service members working to protect the lives of U.S. Citizens, our Afghan allies, and countless others threatened by heinous and cowardly acts of terrorism. 

On Thursday, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) delivered a check in the amount of $3,690,706 to the City of La Palma, highlighting the funding the City received through the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund established by the American Rescue Plan.

On Wednesday, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) delivered a check in the amount of $3,386,000 to the City of Hawaiian Gardens, highlighting the funding the City received through the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund established by the American Rescue Plan.

On Wednesday, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) delivered a check in the amount of $3,120,000 to the City of Artesia, highlighting the funding the City received through the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund established by the American Rescue Plan.
