Sánchez (D-Calif.) introduced an amendment to provide Trade Adjustment Assistance to workers and small businesses displaced by trade. The Republican-led committee blocked the amendment in a 19–24 party-line vote

WASHINGTON – During the markup of the Republican tax bill, Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee Ranking Member Linda T. Sánchez (D-Calif.) introduced an amendment aimed at ending President Trump’s reckless trade agenda. 

Despite the clear economic consequences of the president’s tariffs, the Republican-led committee blocked the amendment in a 19–26 party-line vote, putting every Republican member on record for the first time in support of the president’s chaotic trade policies.

WASHINGTON – Representatives Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.), Danny K. Davis (D-Ill.) and Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.) introduced the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit Enhancement Act to permanently expand the child care tax credit. The bill would raise the maximum credit from $1,050 to $4,000 for one child and from $2,100 to $8,000 for two or more children.
