Washington, DC – Representatives Linda Sánchez (CA-38) and Paul Cook (CA-8) introduced legislation this week honoring Vietnam War veterans. The resolution designates the last Saturday in March as “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” and coincides with the anniversary of the day when the last United States combat troops completed their service and left Vietnam.

The bipartisan bill would provide a tax credit for care giving expenses.

A bipartisan pair of House members has offered legislation that would provide a tax credit for those who care for aging and disabled relatives.

The legislation is sponsored by Reps. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) and Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.) and is supported by groups including the AARP and the American Heart Association, according to a news release issued Monday.
