Washington, DC - “Envision this an undocumented immigrant suffers severe abdominal pain and finds himself in the emergency room of the nearby hospital.
The first order of business for the emergency physician, or nurse, or whoever happens to be attending to this patient is NOT to ask them where it hurts and do a physical exam to see if their life is imminently in danger, but to ask their immigration status, and get a sworn statement to that effect.

Whittier - Working to celebrate and support our veterans, Congresswoman Linda Sánchez (CA-39) is working to pass legislation she introduced to establish the first national “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” (H. Res. 485). Many of our troops returned home from Vietnam, after dedicated service to our country, only to find that they were despised and belittled by much of the American public. This small gesture of proclamation hopefully will go a long way towards healing the wounds still suffered by so many Vietnam veterans.
