The American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act will help families keep their homes, aid local communities hit hard by the foreclosure crisis and strengthen the economy and financial markets. The bill passed yesterday in the House by a vote of 272-152.

H.R. 6126, the Fairness in Nursing Home Arbitration Act of 2008, which Congresswoman Sánchez introduced, and which would prohibit mandatory pre-dispute binding arbitration clauses in nursing home contracts, was approved on a 5-4 party-line vote.
