Emerging Career Pathways Expo
Emerging Career Pathways Expo
Wednesday, November 7, 2018
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Artesia High School Gymnasium
12108 Del Amo Blvd
Lakewood, CA 90715
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor, approximately 53% of all U.S. jobs in 2015 required more than a high school diploma, but less than a 4 year degree. Additionally, these job opportunities are projected to account for 48% of jobs created through 2024. However, a report by Deloitte projects that a skills gap in the workforce will cause 2 million manufacturing jobs to go unfilled by 2025. This is why career and technical education is vital to ensuring our economy remains strong and vibrant, even as technology and automation change the landscape of the U.S. workforce.
At this free public event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with working professionals and learn about exciting and unique careers available in fields such as: aviation, construction, health sciences, culinary arts, automobile technology, and many more. Anyone can attend and speak one-on-one with dozens of representatives from our local community colleges, trade unions, and apprenticeship programs to learn more about non-traditional career opportunities.
If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to RSVP, please call (562) 860-5050. I look forward to seeing you at the event on November 7th.
