WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (CA-38) issued the following statement regarding House Republicans’ election of Mike Johnson as the 56^th House Speaker:

“Now more than ever, we need sensible solutions in Congress. But instead of working with Democrats on bipartisan solutions, Republicans paralyzed our government for three weeks. In the final hour, they fell to Trump's demands and elected extremist Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House.
