Sánchez opposes House Republicans’ defense funding bill

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) released the following statement after voting against the fiscal year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act:

“The annual defense funding bill is supposed to ensure our military has the resources necessary to keep our country safe and that our service members receive the benefits they’ve earned.

“Unfortunately, House Republicans have once again abandoned a bipartisan process to pass yet another anti-woman, anti-health, anti-diversity and anti-LGBTQI+ bill.

“Republicans need to stop playing games with our service members and their families and put forward a clean defense funding bill. The safety and security of our country shouldn’t be held for ransom to pass their extreme MAGA agenda.”
