Sánchez on Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-Calif.) today issued the following statement in support of the announced ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas:

“The ceasefire agreement announced today by President Biden marks a critical step toward ending the devastating cycle of violence and suffering that has persisted over the past 15 months. It brings me hope for the safe return of hostages and the delivery of overdue humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

“This moment must serve as the foundation for a new commitment to lasting peace in the region– one where Israelis and Palestinians can live in security, dignity and mutual respect. It’s vital that all parties use dialogue and diplomacy alone to continue working toward a just resolution, and a hopeful future of peace, healing and prosperity.”
