Sánchez on Iran’s attack on Israel

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) released the following statement on Iran launching nearly 200 ballistic missiles in an attack on Israel:

“I strongly condemn Iran's recent attacks on Israel. These attacks only undermine regional stability, threaten the security of our ally Israel and put innocent lives at risk.

 “This aggression, unfortunately, marks another clear indicator of the growing instability in the region. I have been deeply concerned to hear about the escalating violence in Israel, Gaza and Lebanon, and I condemn the unacceptable civilian casualties that have occurred as a result.

 “The United States must continue to push for diplomacy to prevent a catastrophic regional war — including by securing a cease-fire in Gaza that releases all hostages — and work with our allies to de-escalate tensions.”
