Sánchez delivers $2.1 million to the City of Norwalk
WASHINGTON – On Thursday, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) delivered $2.1 million to the City of Norwalk in funding she secured in the Consolidated Appropriations Act.
The city will use $1,260,000 to design and construct water facilities, including injection wells, recharge facilities, pipelines, reservoirs, and treatment plants. These projects will aim to extract, treat, and distribute groundwater and imported supplies from the Central Groundwater Basin, enhancing water infrastructure within the city.
The remaining $850,000 will be used to enhance Norwalk Transit stops with shade, seating, and solar-powered lighting. The solar panels will improve public safety with ample lighting, while real-time displays powered by these panels will provide accurate wait times to improve overall quality and efficiency for riders.
