Sánchez Statement on Women’s History Month

March 1, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (CA-38) released the following statement today in recognition of Women's History Month:

"Our progress as a nation has always been tied to the trailblazing women who fought for a brighter and better future. During Women's History Month, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of the extraordinary women in California – and across this country – who have worked for better lives for themselves and for women everywhere.

"Last Congress, we welcomed a historic number of women Members to the House of Representatives. With that representation, led by our fearless Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, we passed the Paycheck Fairness Act, the Raise the Wage Act, and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act – all bills that ensure working women are not discriminated against in the workplace and are paid fairly for doing the same work as men. Alongside our first ever woman Vice President, Kamala Harris, we look forward to building on that work and reaffirming that a woman's place is in the White House, the House of Representatives, and the Senate!

"This month and every month, we remember the women who dedicated their lives and careers to equality and justice. We honor them by continuing the fight until we finally deliver equal opportunity for all women across this country."
