Sánchez Hosts Congressional Art Competition

Cerritos -- Working to recognize the artistic talents and creative spirit of California’s high school youth, Congresswoman Linda Sánchez will host her second annual 39th District Art Competition on Thursday, May 27th.

The competition is open to all high school students living in California’s 39th Congressional District and the winning art piece will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. The 39th district winner and his/her parents will also be flown to Washington, D.C. in June for a national reception honoring each winner from across the country.

Approximately 80 students from 13 High Schools will compete in the competition. The students are from Artesia, Cerritos, Downey, Lakewood, Lynwood, Paramount, South Gate, and Whittier.

The event is open to the general public and the press. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to Patrick Rodriguez at 562-429-8499.
