Linda Sánchez Statement on October Jobs Report (Nov 4, 2011)

Congresswoman Linda Sanchez released the following statementafter the Department of Labor announced that the economy added 80,000 jobs inOctober and the unemployment rate dropped to 9 percent:

"Today's jobs report is a sign that our economy is moving inthe right direction, and that the bold actions taken by the last Congress areworking. It also makes it clear that Americans cannot afford to wait any longerfor this Congress to act on job creation. We must act to put people back towork, strengthen our small businesses, repair our infrastructure, fosterinnovation and grow our economy.

"After more than 300 day in office, House Republicans havefailed to produce any serious job creation plan. I would encourage HouseRepublicans to join Democrats in working towards putting Americans back to workby supporting House Democrats' ‘Make it in America' plan and President Obama'sAmerican Jobs Act. These jobs plans would immediately create new jobs andhelp get the economy back on track.

"Putting Americans back to work has to be the top priorityfor this Congress, period."
