Linda Sánchez Statement on November Jobs Report (Dec 2 2011)
Washington, DC-Congresswoman Linda Sánchez (CA-39) released the followingstatement today after the Labor Department reported that the economy added120,000 new jobs in November and the unemployment rate dropped to 8.6% inNovember—the lowest unemployment rate since March 2009:
"Today's jobs report is a clear indication that our economyis moving in the right direction. Despite this progress, the unemployment rate continues to beunacceptably high. There is still muchwork to be done, but today's news does show that the bold decisions made by thelast Congress are paying off with more Americans returning to work.
"I am hopeful that we can build on this momentum in Congressand make job creation our top priority. Republicans have wasted too much timeand have failed to produce any serious job creation plan. I will continue towork hard on advancing policies that will help grow the economy, like extendingthe payroll tax cut. This common senseplan would help stimulate the economy and put money back in the pockets of 160million Americans."
