Linda Sánchez Statement on Donald Trump's Decision to Send Troops to the U.S.-Mexico Border

Norwalk, CA – U.S. Representative Linda T. Sánchez, House Democratic Caucus Vice Chair, issued the following statement on President Trump's decision to send troops to the U.S.-Mexico border:

"Donald Trump's decision to send troops to the U.S.-Mexico border is a waste of limited resources and only puts further strain on state budgets," said Rep. Sánchez. "This plan to deploy the National Guard is not about border security. It is about making the president appear tough on immigration after he scuttled a bi-partisan deal on DACA and failed to secure taxpayer funding for his medieval wall. Clearly, the President's priority is not hard-working Americans."
