Linda Sánchez Statement Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept 15 2011)
Washington, D.C. –Congresswoman Linda Sáncheztoday released the following statement to commemorate the Hispanic Heritage Month which runs from September 15th to October 15th.
"This month we celebrate and recognize the contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the history and culture of this country. Through their service in our armed forces, as elected officials, and as entrepreneurs creating and operating small businesses, Latinos continue to help this country thrive.
"As the fastest growing minority group in the U.S., Latinos are facing unique challenges. As a member of Congress, I will continue to represent and work to meet the needs of the Latino community by supporting access to quality and affordable healthcare, the Dream Act and college tuition assistance.
"I hope that Americans will join me this month in celebrating the contributions that Latinos have made to America's rich history and heritage."
