Linda Sánchez Slams House Republicans on AG Holder Contempt Vote (June 28, 2012)

Washington, DC- Congresswoman Linda Sánchez (CA-39)released the following statement today after the House of Representatives votedto hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress:

"I am disappointed that House Republicans sunk this lowand voted to hold Attorney General Holder in contempt of Congress. Thiswitch hunt has nothing to do with investigating ‘gunwalking' and everything todo with trying to bring down Attorney General Holder and smear the Obamaadministration.

"Attorney General Holder went to unprecedented lengths tocooperate with Congressional investigators and provided more than 7,000documents to Congress. This wasn't good enough for Chairman Issa andHouse Republicans, who refused every Democratic request for witnesses andhearings. This is partisan politics at its worst and a complete waste oftaxpayers' money."
