Linda Sánchez Selected Ranking Member on Ethics Committee (December 5, 2012)
Washington, DC – Today,Congresswoman Linda Sánchez (CA-39) was named Ranking Member for the HouseEthics Committee. Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced CongresswomanSánchez' selection during a press conference today held to introduce theRanking Members of House committees in the 113th Congress. CongresswomanSánchez released the following statement regarding her selection:
"I am honored to be returningas Ranking Member of the House Ethics Committee," said CongresswomanSánchez. "I want to thank my colleagues for entrusting me with thisimportant position. The House Ethics Committee plays an integral rolemaking sure Members and their staffs follow the House's standards ofconduct. I plan to continue working my hardest to ensure that the Americanpeople can have faith and confidence in their elected leaders."

The House Committee on Ethics provides advice to andresponds to questions from Members of Congress and staff regarding the laws,rules, and standards that govern their official conduct.
The 113th Congress will be Congresswoman Sanchez'second term serving as Ranking Member of the House Ethics Committee. Shewas first selected to the position in January 2011.
