Bill Includes Her Provision for Energy-Efficient Insulation

Washington, DC—Rep. Linda T. Sánchez (CA-38), member of the House Ways and Means Committee, voted to pass the Moving Forward Act. This legislation invests more than $1.5 trillion in modern, sustainable infrastructure while creating millions of good-paying jobs, combatting the climate crisis, and addressing disparities in communities across California and throughout the country.

"For too long in Southern California we have had to foot the bill on investments in our infrastructure," said Rep. Sánchez. "True to its name, this legislation would not only invest in repairing our rundown roads but also equip our region with the infrastructure it needs for the 21st Century. Importantly, it would create thousands of good-paying jobs, helping families and our local economy.

"I'm proud that the final bill included my provision to incentivize the installation of mechanical insulation using skilled-labor. Making sure our schools, offices, and other buildings are energy efficient is critical to our future. It represents one of the many commonsense wins for the American people in this legislation."
