Sánchez announces Marti Thomas as new Legislative Director, Senior Advisor

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA) is pleased to announce Marti Thomas has joined her staff as her Legislative Director and Senior Advisor.
With an extensive background in both the public and private sectors, Thomas brings a wealth of experience to the position. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Federal Relations for Taxation, Trade and International Affairs at the American Council of Life Insurers.

Prior to joining the private sector, she served for a decade as Executive Floor Assistant to former House Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt (D-MO) and later as Deputy Assistant Secretary and Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the Department of the Treasury.

"Marti’s extensive experience in both government and the private sector makes her an invaluable addition to our team," said Congresswoman Sánchez. "Her deep knowledge of tax policy and her proven ability to navigate complex legislative issues will be crucial as we approach the upcoming tax debate in the new year. I’m thrilled to welcome her to our team."

Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
